Support-Setting Device
Support-setting devices are deployed with roadheaders for the installation of steel arches when excavating underground roadways. These devices perform the setting of one or two roof bars or a support (with props retracted).
Generally three criteria are fulfilled by the deployment of support-setting devices:
- Improved safety at the roadhead
- Labour savings during roadheader operations
- Improved performance and thus reduced costs of roadheader operations
GTA has developed two types of support-setting device that differ in terms of size and design.
