GTA - The Upper Level Company
In 1979 company owner and general manager Helmut Heisterkamp established GTA with the aim of developing and manufacturing innovative and robust equipment for use in coal mining.
At the time the letters GTA stood for the German words Grubenbedarf, Transporttechnik and Ausbautechnik (mining supplies, transport equipment and roadway support) in reflection of the intended areas of business in the mining industry.
The company has undergone steady development over the past 30 years. Today GTA operates successfully in the following fields:
With a workforce around 80 strong GTA is a highly flexible and effective mid-sized company that is geared to the needs and wants of its customers. New product ideas are developed in close association with the customer and then translated into new machines.
In March 2004 inTrak GmbH became a GTA subsidiary. The company specialises in transport equipment and thus serves this GTA business area.
